In addition to the classic hotels and hostels, the number of alternative accommodation options on Holbox has grown considerably in recent years, thanks to Airbnb and Booking.com. From simple rooms to private homes, you can find almost any type of accommodation on the island. Especially those who like to have an extended equipment of their accommodation and still want good service are well served with an apartment on Holbox. There are many apartment-hotels or vacation homes, ranging from a dining area, kitchen or kitchenette to spacious living areas with gardens and pools. Some even offer a beach club.

Most of the available accommodations are quite modern, having been recently built or renovated. Wi-Fi and air conditioning are standard, and some apartments even have a study or private pool. The location of the apartments varies. They are located right in the center of town or a bit more secluded in quieter places in the interior of the island. In any case, they are all within walking distance of the beach, as Isla Holbox is very small. And the less central accommodations often offer bicycles, so you can get anywhere on the island in a few minutes.

Private rooms, studios, apartments or residences can be booked through Booking.com or Airbnb, which works very well. The hosts are all very friendly and will do their best to make your stay on Holbox as pleasant and relaxing as possible.

Simple rooms are available at a price starting at about 42 USD (34 GBP) per night per person, depending on the season. Better equipped apartments cost about 62-78 USD (50-63 GBP). Prices for suites and whole houses depend mainly on size. For longer stays of a week or more, Airbnb often offers discounts of 20-25%.

Tip: When booking an apartment, you should pay special attention to the amenities included and the location, as the offers vary greatly.

Since there are hardly any package deals for Isla Holbox, many hostels and hotels also list their rooms on Airbnb. So don’t be surprised if you find them there when you’re looking for a place to stay.
