Review of Isla Holbox Info

Viva Zapata is a typical Mexican restaurant with an extensive and authentic menu. The seafood dishes from the grill are especially recommended here, as they come fresh from the sea. The meat dishes are also delicious. Each dish is accompanied by traditional sauces, which can be a bit spicy if you are not used to it. The restaurant is popular with all ages and is great for families. With a separate menu for children, pasta dishes and many other dishes familiar from Mexico, there is something for everyone.

The restaurant is usually busy and during seasonally busy times you may have to wait for a free table. The staff, dressed in traditional Mexican costumes, is consistently very attentive. However, if the rush is great, it can take a little longer until you are served or the food comes.

The bar in the entrance area is always worth a visit anyway. We were particularly taken with the cocktails with mezcal.

The prices are upscale, but not outrageous, the price-performance ratio is okay.
